Walker v. Jesson

Demand for declaratory and injunctive relief against the state Department of Human Services (DHS), accusing DHS of using public funds to pay for non-therapeutic abortions for indigent women. On May 2, 2013, the state district court dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning that the case cannot be re-filed. Plaintiffs appealed the decision to the Minnesota Court of Appeals. On May 5, 2014, the state Court of Appeals upheld the lower court’s dismissal. Current Status: Plaintiffs petitioned the Minnesota Supreme Court to review the case. (See the Dismissal Order here.
