Wis. Assembly Advances Insurance Coverage Restrictions

June 17, 2013 — The Wisconsin Assembly on Thursday approved a bill (AB 216) that would restrict health insurance coverage of abortion and contraception in the state, Reuters reports.

According to Reuters, the bill would prohibit the use of public funds for abortion coverage in public employees' health plans. It also would allow religious organizations to refuse to cover contraception in their employees' health plans (Reuters, 6/14).
