Nova Health Systems v. Pruitt

State court challenge to an Oklahoma law that prohibits a woman from getting an abortion unless she first has an ultrasound and listens to her doctor describe the image in detail. In March 2012, the state trial court struck down the law as unconstitutional. In December 2012, the Oklahoma Supreme Court affirmed, finding that the law violated the U.S. Constitution, as interpreted in Planned Parenthood v. Casey. In March 2013, the Oklahoma Attorney General asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear the case. Final Outcome: The Supreme Court denied the attorney general’s request. (See the law here.
