Texas v. Sebelius

Texas v. Sebelius

Federal court challenge to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Center for Medicare and Medicaid's decision to end funding of Texas' Medicaid Women's Health Program because Texas violated the law by refusing to allow any of the money to go to Planned Parenthood or other entities that are affiliated with abortion providers. In December 2012, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas denied Texas' request for a preliminary injunction. Final Outcome: The case was dismissed without prejudice on January 16, 2013. (See the rule here. See the letter from CMS here. See the complaint here. See the motion for preliminary injunction here.)
